Mandatory furnishing of PAN, Nomination, Contact details, Bank A/c details and Specimen signature by holders of physical securities.
SEBI has vide circular SEBI/HO/MIRSD/MIRSD-PoD-1/P/CIR/2023/37 dated March 16, 2023 made it mandatory for all holders of physical securities in listed companies to furnish PAN, Nomination, Contact details, Bank A/c details and Specimen signature for their corresponding folio numbers.
Physical folios in respect of which any one of the above details are not available on or after October 1, 2023 shall be frozen by RTA. The shareholder whose folio have been frozen shall be eligible to lodge grievance or avail any services only after furnishing the details as mentioned above. The RTA shall revert the frozen folios to normal status upon receipt of all the documents / details as mentioned above.
With effect from April 1, 2024, any payment including dividend in respect of such frozen folios shall be made only through electronic mode only upon complying with the aforesaid requirements.
Frozen folios shall be referred to the administering authority under the Benami Transactions (Prohibitions) Act, 1988 and / or Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002, if they continue to remain frozen as on December 31, 2025.
